More ERP Gantries!!! extended hours!!
It is a trend ... prices are going up.... Hospital Wards, GST, MRT, Heck even my bloody country club membership monthly fee went up a whopping 20% 1 month after i acquired it ... talking about good timing .... and soon my cashcard will be sucking more cash from me too cos the bloody gantries will be extending their hours and they are adding more gantries to suck even more cash from my cashcard ...
LTA Press Release
LTA says "Traffic congestion affects the quality of life and the environment as well as the overall efficiency and productivity of the economy. ... The ERP is a key tool for managing congestion ...."
if their sole purpose is to curb congestion .. why dun they rebate and reward drivers for driving less than a certain mileage per year and use public transport? They should use a "reward" system versus a "punish" system to encourage since when you "punish" a person, that person will be unhappy since he will have to spend more money. And since people become unhappy as their money get suck out of their wallet as they rush to work, how can the quality of life improve? :D .. ehehheh
So government, why not do a rebate system to reward the drivers who drive less or better still, use the public transport since it can also help improve air quality and also help reduce carbon output, reduce global warming ... blah blah

Sexy Punggol 21+!!!
After reading NMP Eunice Olsen's exciting take on PAP's "ohh so sexy new plans" for Punggol 21, I can imagine all the possibilities already!!
Imagine the HOT AND SEXY NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD!!!
- My neighour's sexy hot wife is so making me wanna procreate!!!!!!!
- That afternoon when i saw them sunbathing in their sexy bikinis at the new estate makes me so wanna bang my wall!!!!
- The sexy legs of the aunties walking to the market to buy veggies make me so bloody turned on I wanna rush to the public toilet and jerk off!!!
- My jealous friends who are living in their uninspiring, loser Ang Mo Kio "HoodDB" can only come and visit me and drool at such an inspiring neighbourhood I got here.
- Their envious eyes laying upon my neighbours' suddenly acquired SEX APPEAL after moving to this neighbourhood, makes them wanna move here with their "se kor" ("mouldy"/"Boring") wives so they can be imbued by Punggol 21+'s extraordinary re-sextification affect!!
- Women after moving to Punggol 21 will have smoother skin and bigger breasts ...
- Men who moved to Punggol 21 will increase the size of their manhood and confidence level ...
- Punggol 21 will make them increase their Pride in the community !!!
- Naughty kids who come to this neighbourhood suddenly become so disciplined and well mannered, it makes me so wanna make a few of my own!!!
- Homosexuals who come to Punggol 21 will realise in no time their sinful ways ... and suddenly turn heterosexual and quit having unnatural sex!!! They can finally properly procreate!!!
- Couples who had lousy sex lives will have them rejunvenated in the inspiring neighbourhood of Punggol 21!!
- "LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!!! .. EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK AROUND!"
- Heterosexuals kissing, fondling and making out on the streets! Cos they can't contain their love for one another!!!!
- Neighbours exchange their spouses to strengthen their neighbourhood's sense of community!!!
- WOW!! .. Thank you PAP!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

I really wanna Procreate!!
"The Punggol 21+ plan really awed the audience. You can see community living as part of the neighbourhood. People have a sense of pride in their community. This plays an important role in the estate. I hope this encourages young people to procreate." NMP Eunice Olsen on the plan to revitalise Punggol
Dunno why ... but somehow reading this makes me feel really bizarre .... I mean having a nice neighbourhood really sounds good. But how much of a turn-on it is for me to make me wanna MAKE BABIES like bunnies? ... hmmm ... I would consult my wallet 1st :D ...

About Winning & Losing
Yesterday, I had a chance to take part in the Silk Air organized Monopoly challenge. Now a thing to note is, I haven't played a game of monopoly since primary 6 .. and that is like 19 years. When I sat down at my assigned table, I had to ask the banker to explain to me the general rules of the game and then i realised that it wasn't so much a game of chance as I recalled it to be. At the table of 4 players, I realised the other 3 players had a lot more in common than I do - they are there to WIN, while i just wanna have some fun. And in a way, their attitudes and behavior in the game really put me off. I mean, you're talking about a guy who laments that "My mother doesn't allow me to play monopoly" (he's looking like 40), this auntie who is like super gancheong about the game and asking questions to clarify the special rules for the 1 hr speed round, and this other guy, who laid out his MARs bars and had a monopoly notebook whipped out to do calculations and write notes while the game is happening. These guys are out to eat me for breakfast, and going into the game, I had no idea how nasty they could be. For instance, they had this rule that if you forgot to ask someone else to pay you when they land on your property, and someone else rolls the dice, you will have to forfeit that payment. Sounds fair enough, until you realise they were rushing the game so much so as to avoid paying and when someone is trying to settle some payments, they would take that chance to get someone else to roll the dice so that if they shld land on that busy person's lot, they would avoid paying. It pissed me off quite a bit when they were rushing me so that I would not notice that some prior person had to pay and had no time to even look at the board.
Now ... I am a person who hates to lose. And if I should lose, I wanna lose fair and square. I came to this game with a "happy have some fun" attitude and it was just my luck to bump into these bunch of kiasu people. I eventually was the one who bankrupted, and ended the game. Now I was really eager to do so, and was kinda relieved that the game ended so much earlier than those guys wanted to. The guy who bankrupted me would have done better if he wasn't so greedy, but I fed his ego by saying, "hey, I don't have enough cash, why don't u bankrupt me, and I can transfer all cash and assets to you??". I think on hindsight, he would have regretted his decision and tried to just take my assets and earned more cash since we had at least 12min to go before the end of the game. And in the end, though he won the game, I doubt he made enough to get into the 2nd round when compared to the rest of the 100s of players. And the other 2 were probably unhappy that I "gave in" so quickly, because it meant they had even lesser money to even be considered into the 2nd round. Eventually, it was a waste of time for them, and a rather entertaining Saturday morning for me.
And I am just so glad I took a picture with my good friend Kuangwei with the Monopoly Guy :)

Old Cars in Singapore?
Was reading an article in Straits Times today about 8 out of 10 cars in Singapore are less than 10 years old. The article went on to say that despite fees to extend the lifespan of cars beyond 10 years being at an all time low, people are not doing so. He sees this as a trend that indicates the culture here being everything that is"new is good". So what is this all time low we're talking about? The 1st 6 mths of this year, the average of COE revalidations (which expires every 10 yrs) are on the average $12,565 for 1600cc cars and $14,051 for cars above 1600cc - which are 1/2 of what it was in 2004. For readers not familar with COE (certificate of entitlement), it is a piece of paper that you have to buy from the government in order to own a car and it has an expiry date of 10 years.
Now I really don't understand how he uses these numbers as indicators that Singaporeans do not like old vintage cars. I love old vintage stuff, and I collect old stuff because they are of certain historical value or if they serve as a memory to a certain time in my life. However, the issue here I figure, is more to a case of economics. I love VW Beetles, and I will want to buy an old Beetle from yester years if I could, but the fact that if I should buy one for collectible purposes, it wouldn't make much sense here in Singapore. The fact is even if I want to purchase a old antique car to place in my home just for show, I would still have to pay the government for a bloody piece of paper to own it on top of its own value. Not to mention the bloody piece of paper expires in 10 years. Now why would I want to buy the collectible car in Singapore? Maybe it will be cheaper to buy a garage in the US and buy all these old vintage cars and keep them there. It would be much cheaper in the long run.
If anyone's buying a car in Singapore, I would think most people (maybe 8 out of 10?) would make their purchases based on economic reasons. And the car ownership system in Singapore is discouraging the culture of vintage car collecting, not because people here like new things only.
